The (first six of the nine) steps in the pilgrimage of man towards God along the path of dedication and surrender are: (1) Developing a desire to listen to the glory and grandeur of the handiwork of God and of the various awe-inspiring manifestations of Divinity. It is by hearing about the Lord again and again, that we can transform ourselves into Divinity. (2) Singing to oneself about the Lord, in praise of His magnificence and manifold exploits. (3) Dwelling on the Lord in the mind, revelling in the contemplation of His beauty, majesty and compassion. (4) Entering upon the worship of the Lord, by concentrating on honouring the feet or foot-prints. (5) This develops into a total propitiation of the Lord, and systematic ritualistic worship, in which the aspirant gets inner satisfaction and inspiration. (6) The aspirant begins to see the favourite Form of God, which one likes to worship, in all beings and all objects, wherever one turns, and hence develops an attitude of Vandana (reverence) towards nature and all life! Spiritual Wealth and Health for All..
We have a life span, we too have a spiritual span. We are mortal, yet we are also immortal, our soul, our spirit. Who are you? Why are you here? Where are you going? Can you understand our immortal spirit that is encased inside a mortal body? Can you accept that I am you and you are me? No matter what name you all call yourselves, we all call ourselves "I"... That "I" is the gift of the Divine, we are all a spark of the Divine!

The first 6 steps in the pilgrimage of man towards God along the path of dedication and surrender are as follows:

Everything is suffused with love (Prema). So we can unhesitatingly declare that the Supreme Lord is the form of love (prema-swarupa). In all living things, love manifests itself in various forms and is known through many names such as love for offspring, affection, devotion to God, desire (vaatsalya, anuraaga, bhakthi, ishtam) etc., based on the direction in which it is channelised. But whatever the form, the essence is the same. On the basis of this knowledge and experience, it is clear that the supreme Lord is the inner Atma of all created things (Sarva-butha-antar-atma). That which teaches the highest knowledge of this unity is known as nondualism (a-dvaitha); that which teaches the principle of the lover and the Loved is known as dualism (dvaita); that which teaches about all three, love, lover, and loved — or nature (prakriti), individual (jiva), and Brahman— is known as qualified nondualism (visishta-advaita). But these three are one. (Prema Vahini, Ch 38) - Baba
I am unaffected by praise or blame. My love and compassion envelop all; My Grace can be shared by all. I am declaring this so that you may face all this with fortitude. The more you dig, the deeper the derision; the higher the mound, the taller the praise. People with a disease in the nose cannot appreciate the fragrance of a flower. Those who cannot appreciate or recognize the Divine are suffering from an illness which handicaps them to do so. (SSS Vol XIII - Chap 25)
The return...
The Return.....
The robes that I have left amidst you... I shall return to wear
them once again... You are to await My return in the silence of complete
surrender... Those that shall live the dharmic (righteous) way shall
with their simple devotion arrive where I shall once again walk the
steps of the Guru (spiritual Master) and teach the human mind to touch
the light of Supreme consciousness with the fountain of love that pours
from within their own hearts...
I have only shed the clothes of My body... but because I have
done so, that does not mean that My role has come to an end... The
Divine plan can never be known to anyone... Even those that are closest
to My physical form know nothing of what I am doing... and what I am to
do... Only I am aware of My Sankalpa (Divine Will)... and I can make it
come to truth... No one else can ever help Me... only I can conduct what
I must do... There is no one that can know or be aware of My next step
that I am to take...
With the new clothes (body) that I shall adorn, I shall return to
you with the gift of Atmic Jnana... Even the simplest souls that know
not the worldly ways shall receive the ways to Atmic Bliss... The Grace
of this Avatar shall be abundantly available to anyone and everyone...
The work of the previous Avatar shall continue with great force for even
though I shall wear the golden and red robe... I shall continue in My
cosmic form to lead the mission of My previous body... I am not present
in one particular time... and place... I can enter what you call the
"past" and create the present for it... For Me, I do not travel in the
tunnels of time... I am the Universal Self that can make time return to
Me as I will... whenever I will...
While I am to do what you can never chase... never understand...
you are to lead your own mind to the safety of dharmic laws... You are
to lead the simple lives in which the devoted mind shall lead you to
realize the higher truths... You are to immerse all your unnecessary
worldly desires into the bonfires of pure thinking... You are to know...
recognize and follow the steps the present Avatar walked every single
day... every single moment... I walked the steps of love... I carried
upon My shoulders the weight of Sanathana Dharma (Universal laws of
truth)... I poured upon you My continuous state of Atmic Bliss... It is
your turn now to walk... It is your turn to take the step upon which My
footprint shall always remain...
Do not wait idly for My return... Do not give up all that I have
left with you in My this mission and simply mourn and await My return.
Remember if you do that, you shall close the gifts that I have left with
you and you shall also not be able to receive the gifts of Atmic Jnana
that I shall return to give to you... You are to live this moment....
this moment with strength.... You are not to wait for something that is
yet to come... yet to happen.
Continue your lives immersed in My teaching and in My way of life....
continue to have faith that it is the robes that I have left to wear
before you... I am still with you.... always.... My return to another
body.... another form is inevitable... But that must not be your
focus.... Once you have chosen Me to be your Guru... you must drown in
the bliss of the moments you and I spent as one....
Your faith.... your joy... your devotion... your dedication shall bring
Me once again to return to serve you.... I am fully aware of every part
of your being.... for I am you, and you.... Me.... Nothing has
changed.... nothing can.... nothing will... The Guru that you have loved
so very much has loved you.... more than you can ever know.... The Guru
that you miss is with you.... more than you can ever recognize.... The
Guru that you feel has left you is more with you than you can ever
realize....
The robes that I have left amidst you, I shall return to wear them
again.... but until then you must wear the robes of faith and
patience.... You must be the reflections of My Self.... You must awaken
with the Guru within.... and the game we played together shall return
where you shall seek the Source and I shall play with My shadow....

Difficulties, troubles and worries come in the natural course as a consequence of past actions
Difficulties, troubles and worries come in the natural course as a
consequence of past actions. Human birth is the result of Karma (past
actions); there can be no escape from its consequences. As is your
action, so is the reaction. When you stand before a mirror and offer
salutation, your salutation gets reflected to you. If you address harsh
words to the mirror, the harshness again comes back in the same manner.
It is evident that the fruits of our actions are determined by the
nature of our actions. Man is an image of God. ‘God appears in human
form (Daivam maanusha rupena)’ declares the scriptures. God does not
come down as Avatar to relieve specific individuals of their troubles
and sorrow, and to confer joy and happiness on them. God takes a human
form from time to time to show humanity how human lives can be
divinised. (Divine Discourse, 3 Sep 1988)

Every object in Nature and every individual around you is constantly teaching you lessons of various sorts, every moment of your life
Every object in Nature and every individual around you is constantly teaching you lessons of various sorts, every moment of your life. Recognise this truth. Marvellous, sacred and beautiful is Nature. Human beings, in deep involvement with mundane concerns, and in their insane conceit, regard themselves as the Master of Nature. Nature is your best teacher. It is Nature that presides over every aspect of your life and provides you with all nourishment. It can bless or punish you, its sway is extensive. God considers all things in creation as equal and He is immanent in all of them. Hence, do not regard God and Nature as distinct entities. They are inseparably interrelated like the object and its image. Ancient Indian scriptures regarded and worshipped every object in Nature as a divine manifestation. From a stone to a diamond, from an ant to an elephant, from a simple person to a sage, everything and every being was considered worthy of worship. (Divine Discourse, 3 Sep 1988)

The lesson is: constant remembrance of the Divine
People yield to delusion and become one with the darkness caused by
false values and attachment to the unreal, the ‘me’ and ‘mine’. But the
scripture (Shastra) is like a mother; she does not give up. She persists
and pursues; she reminds you of your goal so that you will be saved.
The scriptures are to be considered as the cause of the awareness of the
incomprehensible, immeasurable and inexpressible Brahman. The
scriptures are numberless, and a lifetime is too short. Aspirants are
plenty; doubts and hesitations are numerous; steadfastness is meager. As
a result, no one can claim full mastery. But you need not drink the
entire ocean to know its taste; one drop is enough. Similarly, it is
impossible to understand all the contents of the scriptures. But it is
enough to grasp the important lesson that it teaches and put it into
practice. The lesson is: constant remembrance of the Divine. (Sutra
Vahini Ch. 2)
Thought of the day......
When you face hardships and struggle in life, cling and hold on to the
Lord. To instill courage in an infant, its mother persuades it to walk a
few steps and turn, but she won’t allow it to fall. If it totters and
is about to lose balance, she hurries behind and catches it! The Lord
too has His eyes fixed on each individual (jivi). He has in His hand the
string of the kite, which is humanity! Sometimes He may pull it, and at
other times He may loosen the grip! Whatever He does, be confident and
carefree, for it is He who holds the string of your life. That solid
faith will fill you with the essence of love (prema-rasa). The string is
the bond of love and grace and every individual (kite) is thus bound to
the Lord. All you must do is to walk the path so that the bond of love
and grace is strong. (Prema Vahini, Ch 29)

Divine messages...
CHAPTER 51
The vision of God is granted to the one that has no body consciousness, that is not unwrapped nor led by any worldly desire, that, in full awareness of only the Lord's presence, develops the tightest reigns of control over all his senses. Such a noble one, will close his eyes to all the perishable gifts and bindings of this world and will receive the golden light of the heavens that will illumine the intellect and will warm the heart with love that is purely divine. Know, My child, that this vision can never be attained by wishfulness. However much one may attempt to learn, no spiritual education can ever teach you the way to see the Lord. Seeing and loving God in a chosen form will eventually, too, restrict you from knowing and experiencing the true glory of the Mighty Universal Power. Hence, always remember, My child, that one prayer, one session of meditation will not simply let you attain the wisdom that will illuminate the inner eye to reveal the miracle and the magic of one's own relationship with the absolute truth - God!
The vision of God, My sweet, does not develop with time - time and devotion are not linked, My child! The vision comes as one puts all effort to know his own true self. The length of prayer, is in no way, related to the love of prayer. The strength of prayer lies in one's sincere effort to remain single pointed towards the Lord, alone. Such single pointedness, must not only be present at the time of prayer or meditation, but at all waking moments, one must focus all work, all action, every reaction, each response towards the inspirational wisdom of the inner divine source.
Such continuous practice is not only possible, but is the only sure way for you to reach the truth of God. Bigger suffering and confusion lies in thinking and handling several thoughts. When thoughts become too many, the strength of discrimination fails. Once discrimination fails, action suffers, and when action suffers, one faces further pain by being bound to its outcome. To break the binding chains of karma, one must learn to focus the direction of every emerging thought towards God. If the thought is worrisome or fearful, direct it towards My Feet, and one will experience the consolation and reassurance of the Universal Mother. If the thought is filled with the poison of anger, send it, My child, towards My Heart; I will drink the poison and return the nectar of calmness and patience to you. If the thought has drained the awareness and consciousness with petty worldly temptations, direct it to Me, ask Me, and I will bestow you with a gift much bigger - a gift that is truly real. Know and realize that there is no work in which one will not be able to see the role of the Blessed Hand. In whatever good or evil you do, you can never leave Me behind. You carry Me wherever you go, you utilize My strength in whatever you do.
The truth, My child, is inseparable from you. Action is led by time - truth is led by the continuity of its eternal nature. Hence, a wrong act will reveal its own truth of the wrong, at the right time. The beginning of truth is the same at the end - the end is only the beginning again! Hence, My child, be led by only the truth and not be the temptation to act, compulsively. The Divine vision will come, if one continuously steers every part of his life towards the self. It is easy to know the voice of the self from that of the mind, for the self instantly responds with the truth - it has no inclination nor desire to ever think! Self is the voice of wisdom that carries the confidence of the Lord, always. To recognize the language of the self, one must first dive completely to find it - become familiar with its ways, battle, My sweet, to keep the inner silence and focus and adapt to the signs of its truth. Unlike evil, truth is not addictive. Addictiveness is only temptation and teasing.
The truth, My child, is the endless giver, hence, one can never attach himself to the truth - one can only become the truth! The eyes of truth behold only the Lord. Hence, My sweet, knowing the truth, believing the truth, facing the truth, living the truth, adapting the truth, enveloping in the truth, breathing the truth, feeding the truth, lets one become its permanence and constantness. Once you have reached beyond the stage of change, once you have reached the point where there is no higher truth than the truth itself, then, at that stage, will come the vision that will remain the same, wherever you look.
Wherever you will see, whatever you will see, will turn to the golden God! That, My child, is the divine vision! The vision in which one only beholds the truth and with the power of truth makes the appearance of all before him simply divine! That vision, My sweet, will come to all, but first, he must learn to stay awake in the dark and await the light! Those that spend the night in prayer will remain awake and experience the first light at dawn. The one that salutes the sun, first, will start his work - his day the earliest and hence, will be able to finish the divine task much before the threat of dusk!

"With God as my teacher, I am constantly learning."
As a child, I was sent to school to learn, and I did learn some important facts and skills that helped me live as an adult in a complex world. But along my way in life, I discovered that learning does not end as soon as I receive a diploma, begin a career, or take on adult responsibilities.
In God's glorious world, every day is an opportunity to learn more about myself and others. I am constantly learning and growing, and my greatest growth comes with my own spiritual awareness.
I am a student of life, eager and open to learning from God, my supreme teacher. And if I should make what seems like an error, I recognize it as a growth experience. With God as my teacher, I am constantly learning and growing.
"Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation."
- Psalm 25:5
Fine instrument..
The mind will be a means of liberation when it is rid of the impurities residing in it. All spiritual exercises are designed only for cleaning the mind.
Do not condemn the mind as a monkey, etc. It is a fine instrument with which you can achieve either liberation or bondage. It depends as to how you manipulate it. It can lead you, if you so desire, right up to the door of realization or it will make you wander into blind alleys where every step will fall into dirt.
Must read....
An aging Hindu master grew tired of his apprentice complaining and so, one morning, sent him for some salt.
When the apprentice returned, the master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it.
"How does it taste?" the master asked.
"Bitter," spit the apprentice.
The master chuckled and then asked the young man to take the same handful of salt and put it in the lake.
The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and once the apprentice swirled his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."
As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the master asked, "How does it taste?"
"Fresh," remarked the apprentice.
"Do you taste the salt?" asked the master.
"No," said the young man.
At this the master sat beside this serious young man, who so reminded him of himself, and took his hands, offering:
"The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things. Stop being a glass. Become a lake."
