Neither liberation from the cycle of birth 

and death nor purity of intellect and emotions 

is possible without devotion to the Lord. 

Those who have the spring of ecstatic devotion 

to the Presence of the Lord within them do not need 

any texts to ponder over. 

The very contemplation on the beauty, 

grace, and power of the Lord will give them 

the bliss they seek. 

In that ecstatic mood, 

they discard all self-consciousness 

and yearn to become the beloved of God, 

and remain in blissful Union with Him. 

They dance and sing aloud and 

merge with Him in genuine joy and bliss.

 He's God. So treat God as your true friend. He'll be always with you."

when even the most haughty,
the most wilful, the most unbelieving
and even those who assert that there
 is no joy or peace in the contemplation
of the highest self will have to pray,

"God, grant me peace, grant me consolation, strength and joy."

What is worship?

Many so-called spiritually inclined people tend to separate all the different types of work into two distinct categories, spiritual and non-spiritual. But God tells us that all kinds of work should be considered as worship and executed with that thought clearly in mind. Only then can we pursue whatever our job happens to be with an attitude of acceptance instead of the far more prevalent one of resistance if it is not exactly what we think we would prefer. Resistance produces tension which leads directly to a persistent feeling of frustration. How then can we be happy?


On the other hand, we can use an entirely different approach by doing as God suggests, by making our work a type of worship. By asking the God-self to act through us, we shall be able to free ourselves from our former resistance and tension, so that whatever our work is, it will become an adventure. We will never be able to anticipate what surprises are in store for us. When the God-force is in command, animating us like a puppeteer with Its puppets, we can relax and watch the outcome.


Frequently, this change of attitude will allow the learning to take place that the job made possible, and then we may be relieved of that work which provided us with the opportunity to benefit from it in this way. Then, another door can open up, perhaps leading to a different job to provide yet another learning opportunity.

Welfare is the fruit of knowledge... malevolence is the fruit of ignorance...

One's very basic duty is

Service is the most difficult of the nine steps to inner reality.....

Service is the most difficult of the nine steps to inner reality. It is basically action arising out of the yearning to win the grace of God. It is the most important step to erase ego... Through service alone can man attain mastery of senses, the passions and predilections, and through that, reach divinity itself. I have come to teach you the proper attitude of service - for love expresses as service, and God is Love. Service to man leads to the discovery of man as God.

It is difficult to describe anything in words.....

To describe anything in words is difficult; 

it might even cause boredom.

 

But to demonstrate it by deed is easier 

and more pleasant! 

 

Through meditation, spiritual aspirants 

are able to cast off sheaths of ignorance,

layer after layer. 

 

They withdraw their sense perceptions

from contact with worldly experiences.

 

The process that aims at this holy 

consummation alone deserves to be called meditation.

 

For this process, you must be equipped 

with good habits, discipline, and high ideals. 

 

You must be full of renunciation towards

worldly things and their attractions. 

 

Whatever the situation, you should conduct 

yourself with enthusiasm and joy. 

 

Whatever is done must be dedicated

not to eke out a livelihood but for earning bliss  

 

You should train yourself to adopt a good sitting pose

 to avoid tension of the body, and to ease the mind

from the weight and pressure of the body.

 

If you thus truly meditate, you will achieve

oneness with the Divine and experience the joy of realizing the Self within yourself.

 

God says....

"The more you come close to me, the more you earn my love, you become more likely to 'burn'."  What will be burnt are our evils, defects and impurities.  Such a burning leads to spiritual purification, to refinement.  As the process of burning is accompanied by God's love, which acts a shield, the aspirant is able to withstand the fiery ordeal.

Pray for happiness, and what is right....

If you feel you must have something to be happy, pray to God; "God! You have the responsibility to keep me healthy, happy, good and intelligent; give me this thing, which I believe is necessary for my happiness; but, if you think, I am wrong, give me whatever you think best." God will never desert His obligation; He will feed you and foster you.

Living is either pleasant or unpleasant depending upon your basic attitude towards life,,,

Living is either pleasant or unpleasant depending upon your basic attitude towards life. See how the same object becomes pleasant once and unpleasant on another occasion? The thing welcomed with great fondness at one time becomes hateful at another time and there is not even the desire to see it. The condition of the mind at those times is the cause of this state. Therefore, it is necessary to train the mind to be always pleasant.

The clamour of the senses has to be silenced....

The farmer, intent on cultivation,
ignores even food and sleep, 
for he is too busy ploughing, levelling, 
scattering seeds, watering, weeding, 
guarding and fostering the crop.

He knows that his family will have to
subsist on the harvest that he brings home 
and that if he fritters away the precious season in idle pursuits,
his family will be confronted with hunger and ill-health. 

So, he sets aside or postpones
other pursuits and focuses all his attention on farming alone. 

He puts up with difficulties and deprivations,
toils day and night, watches over the growing crops 
and garners the grain. 

As a consequence, he is able to spend
the months ahead, in peace and joy, with his happy family. 

Students and spiritual seekers have to 
learn important lessons from the farmer. 

The stage of youth is the season 
for mental and intellectual culture. 

These years should be intensively and
intelligently cultivated; irrespective of difficulties and obstacles. 

The clamour of the senses has to be silenced; 
hunger and thirst have to be controlled; the urge 
to sleep and relax has to be curbed.

Remembering the divine name is BEST for all of us...

There are many snakes of wicked qualities 

in the anthill of your heart. 

 

When you do remembering the divine name

all the 'snakes' of bad qualities will come out.  

 

Remembering the divine name is like 

the musical wind instrument which attracts snakes 

and brings them out of anthills. 

 

This remembering the divine name is your breath of life. 

One has to repeat God’s name in order to get rid of evil qualities. 

 

Today there are many who do not attach any importance to it.

It is a great mistake.

 

Chanting of the divine name can redeem your lives. 

There is no other refuge. Singing the glory of the Lord is highly sacred!

Recognise the truth that God pervades everything from mircrocosm to macrocosm...

It is a matter of great bliss to be loved by many. 

To win over the hearts of so many is a sign of Divinity.

 

God loves everyone and everyone loves God. 

 Do not hurt anyone by your harsh words and 

do not enter into any evil paths. 

 

Recognise the truth that God pervades 

everything from microcosm to macrocosm. 

 

With sincerity of purpose and faith and self-confidence, 

you can achieve anything in the world. 

 

Love God from the depths of your heart. 

Follow God's commands and you will attain everything

and be victorious in all your endeavours!

Hands are not the only limbs or agents

Whatever is done, whatever is seen, 

whatever is heard, one should be vigilant about its purity.

The prayer that reflects Me, is bound to see the true image.

You may find it difficult to acknowledge

Such propensities and evil tendencies 

should never strike root in your minds. 

You must be careful such that your character is not polluted.

When we recall His Name, a stream of Love will spring forth from your heart..

The story of the Lord is an enchanting treasure. 

Store His story in your memory and save yourself 

from delusion and grief. 

 

You may have listened to the recitals of all scriptures

and mastered all spiritual practices. 

 

But the greatest of them all

is the sacred Name of the Lord 

and the sweetness that it oozes. 

When His Name falls on the ear, 

your heart will be filled with joy.

Worldly love for another person cannot be termed as genuine love...

Love for the Divine Self is primary; love 

for other worldly objects or persons is secondary.

Be that water that flows with sacrifice only 
to bear and endure another's impurity.

It accepts the sugar, only to become the sweet dessert -
it accepts the bitterness, only to become the curing medicine -

rubs off the tarnish, leaving the original brilliance. 

The need of water, My dears, is inexhaustible. 
The water, My child, must flow, for when it stagnates, 
it will lose the nature of its purity and will remain 
infested and polluted by the parasites 
and intoxicants that will consume its true nature. 

Flow, my dears, with that divine energy - 
learn to accept the worst - know, My child, 
that the stubbornness of the "worst" will bend, 
humbly, before the patience of the best. 

The good, O dear, can never be choosers - 
choosing is only refusing another, and refusing 
another will only make you strengthen his weakness 
and lose your purity of goodness. 

The good only stand before the bad, 
only to take the bad and give back the good. 
They soften the wicked by lashing the whip 
on their own backs - they convince the ignorant 
not by argument but by their silence of wisdom. 

They lead not by threat or force, 
but by their trail of peace and love. 

They, My dears, have descended upon 
this earth to offer to you their source 
of eternal energy that will kindle the 
flame of immortality in the life that 
lives today in the vision of death.

Yes! Their way, My child, may seem 
and appear slow and painful, but realize 
that their slowness is their steadfastness - 
their service is the gain of their love - 
their implicit obedience is the richness 
of faith and humbleness - their pain is 
their vow of determination and their 
sacrifice is nothing but their vision of oneness. 

They have made truth their day, 
accomplishing all their work in that light - 
they see no night for they have become 
the beacons of light that shine through all darkness. 

They rest only in their spiritual work - 
their last breath will only signify the 
completion of their service - 
every being is their idol to worship - 
their prayers may seem silent - 
but know that they chant, repetitively, 
only by their loving deeds!

When the wind changes and the same person is disliked or blamed, even the good he does strikes us as bad...

Attempting to hide one's meanness 

and wickedness and putting on the mask of goodness,

justifying one's faults and exaggerating one's attainments -

these are also poisonous traits. 

Equally poisonous is the habit of 

ignoring the good in others and assiduously

seeking only their faults. 

Never speak words that demean anyone. 

When we are friendly with another and like them very much, 

whatever he/she does is certain to strike us as good. 

 When the wind changes and the same person is disliked,

even the good he/she does strikes us as bad. 

Both these reactions are misconceived. 

They are not commendable at all.

When the mind focuses upon any pain, it immediately experiences its brutal sharpness, in the same way, when you let the mind focus upon the true self within...

One can recover from any disease, miraculously, when one does not see his self as a part of it!

You should not retaliate or wish them ill, you must bear all blows patiently and gladly...

The attitude of forbearance is to refuse 

to be affected or pained when inflicted 

with sorrow, loss, and the ingratitude and

wickedness of others. 

In fact, you should be happy and calm, 

for you should know that these are the 

results of your own actions now recoiling on you, 

and you should view those who caused the misery 

as friends and well-wishers. 

You should not retaliate or wish them ill. 

You must bear all blows patiently and gladly. 

The natural reactions of people, 

whoever they may be, when someone injures them 

is to injure in return; when someone causes harm,

to do harm; and when someone insults them, 

to insult back by some means or other. 

This is the characteristic of the worldly path- 

the path of objective involvement.

If you seek the inner path of sublimation and purification

you must avoid such reaction and exhibit forbearance .

Love should not degenerate into an article of commerce. Love fulfils itself in love...

The lotus leaf is born under water; 

it floats on water;

but it does not get wet. 

You too, must be in the world likewise-in it, 

by it, for it, but not of it. 

This is the special feature of the higher education, 

to prepare you for this role. 

That is to say, with the heart immersed in the Divine 

and the hands busy in work, you must live thus on earth. 

Love should not degenerate into an article 

of commerce. Love fulfils itself in Love.

Helplessness is the sure sign of the hopeless faith one has in one's own self...

Forbearance, therefore, instructs you to do good even to those who injure you...

Returning injury for injury, harm for harm, 

or insult for insult only adds to the Karmic burden, 

which has to be endured and eliminated in future lives. 

 

This burden is termed "Aagaami" (impending). 

You can't escape the task of undergoing the

consequences of your thought, word, and deed in due course. 

 

Paying evil for evil can never lighten the weight of Karma;

it will only become heavier. It might confer immediate relief 

and contentment, but it can only make you suffer later. 

 

Forbearance, therefore, instructs you to do good even to those who injure you.

Prayer is the nectar that relieves one from the poison of one's own desires...

Make another's smile your need, make another's success your inspiration...

Make another's smile your need,

make another's prayer your service, 

make another's wound your pain - 

be that healing touch that melts 

the disease of hatred. 

It is only hatred and malice that 

invokes the syringe of jealousy within. 

Until one will pamper the "I" 

and ignore the true self - until one 

finds within him the need only to receive, 

with no urge to give - until one refuses 

to behave in a human manner - 

until one perceives himself to be 

the master that controls another -

until then, O child, one will face the 

torments of bitterness, sourness, 

and the spiciness of his fiery passions. 

Sweetness will come, My love, - 

I promise! It will come, once you 

are able to swallow all bitterness, 

withstand all sourness, overcome 

all burning heat! 

Find the strength to digest the pride, 

dissolve the mind, and all that will remain, 

will be the sweet, pure energy of God!

Do not look behind, No, just look ahead, concentrate and follow only that which inspires your faith to move forward...

Remember, always, every worldly possession conquers your birth right of freedom!

The weakness of your past can only be wiped by the strength you show in the present...

The self within you, My child, is indestructible, for it knows that it is the only truth in the reality of your existence...
