The happiness that one derives from
virtues is far superior to the happiness
that we get from the possession of wealth.

are striving for wealth, physical
strength, and friendship.
But all these have little value
without the wealth of character.
For men or women, character is the foundation.
If one lacks character, one becomes
feeble in all other respects.
People of those days strove for noble character.
They were prepared to give up
their very lives for a righteous cause.
Women strived to uphold the honour of their husbands.
