Desires?
What is their nature?
When a cat kills your pet parrot,
you are enraged; when it kills a mouse,
you are pleased.
Though the behaviour of the cat is the same,
you desired one and disliked the other,
as a result of your attachment!
Desires are decided by personal prejudices and fancies.
They also pall when fulfilled and are often momentary urges,
clamouring for immediate satisfaction.
After a full meal, food becomes uninteresting,
if not positively repellent! Once satiated,
the thing desired becomes disgusting!
