Devotion, dedication and discipline toward God alone can instill within the gift of Self Confidence. We are fearful at all times not because we are ashamed of our “Self”. No! We are all aware within our hearts of how much we stray from our “Self”. That awareness of straying makes one experience smallness in front of the truth that the Self is at all times.

The problem is not be how to live glamorously so that you make others envy you...

The problem should not be how to live glamorously so that you make others envy you, but, how to live gloriously or better still, how to die gloriously! So gloriously that you are not put to the humiliation of dying again. When you know that thieves have broken into your neighbor's house, you become extra-cautious and every night, before you retire, you examine every lock and bolt in the house. When you know that death has carried away a victim for the house next door, why do you not examine yourselves whether you are equipped to meet it, when it comes to you.

We must have a wide understanding for all. We must …or life will only be full of blame. We must try to make peace with all mistakes that come our way. Do not be disturbed if another has taken a path of war toward you. As much as you do not need to respond at the war’s call…you also do not need to be a companion and walk the same path with the one that has resolved only to remember to fight.

Unfortunately, sometimes we are faced with difficult tests. The ones that we dearly love themselves are the ones that are always prepared to initiate wars and unhappiness. What are then we to do? We are bound by duty and separate in our attitudes. In such a situation of closeness we have to be mature not only by age but by way of thinking. Do only that, that keeps duty peaceful and pleasant and that duty which initiates the war has to be left behind.

Our biggest duty toward all is to keep them peaceful. If you have done that…you have done all your work. Sometimes it may be difficult where the line of separation lies. But remember that line of separation is only external…internally there must be no line of separation. Your heart must be able to love without the awareness of any defect. But externally for the sake of peace sometimes a line of separation allows a spiritual growth for both.

When fire rages you try to put it out by throwing sand or water, and you keep a stock of these in readiness... but when the 6 fires raging inside you.

They will help you to scorch the flames; they are effective extinguishers.

No one is fully wicked or fully infallible. Take the world as it is, never expect it to conform to your needs or standards. Discriminate to the best of your capacity and develop your capacity to discriminate. However you are, you are mine. God won't give you up. Wherever you are, you are near God; you cannot go beyond God's reach.

Human body is gifted to experience Truth and Divine love, not to indulge in mean acts. Truth, righteousness, peace and love are Divine qualities. Birds and animals have only love, but not the remaining three qualities. One having all these four qualities alone is true human being.

Today, the rich and the educated are neglecting spirituality. They consider money as the be-all and end-all of life. Money can never give peace and bliss. Devotion is most essential. The country is facing hardships because people lack devotion to God.

One may be wealthy but wealth is useless if one lacks character. After death, are you able to carry your bank balance with you? No. It will remain in the bank only. You can not carry even a fistful of sand with you. So, character is most essential.

Using your wealth in a good way, using your learning to a good purpose is what will count to God...

Many of you may be wealthy. Many of you are scholars. Your greatness will not be judged merely by your possessions. To what extent you are spending your wealth in a good way, to what extent you are using your learning to good purpose, to what extent you are using your intellect for the good of the community, that is what counts with God.

Both are equally important, balance in human life and in nature....

Today, the world is losing it's ecological balance as man, out of utter selfishness, is robbing mother earth of her resources like coal, petroleum, iron, etc. As a result, we find earthquakes, floods and such other devastating natural calamities. Human life will find fulfillment only when ecological balance is maintained. Balance in human life and balance in nature, both are equally important.

Spiritual growth...

Traditional and ritualistic practices are certainly needed to start with. It is like learning the alphabet first when one learns a language. Once you have the alphabet a, b, c, d, etc., you can learn words like God. After learning words, one can form sentences. Once one can read sentences, one can then read an entire book. In the same way, wise men of the past initiated people to the concept of Divinity by advising them to visit temples, holy places, etc. This is rather like learning the alphabet. All such practices were recommended as spiritual drill for the ordinary people and beginners on the spiritual path. But practicising rituals without understanding their real meaning becomes an obstacle in spiritual growth.

The paper itself might get tossed violently by gusts of wind but the garland would always remain firm on the paper and not undergo any relative movement. Likewise, although the external circumstances and thoughts of an individual may undergo changes, the Divinity imprinted within will ever remain steady, constant and never undergo any change.

It is because of the feelings of the mother that the children become good or bad...

It is imperative that the mother gives training in moral values to her children right from their childhood. She should not overlook the mistakes of her children. She should punish her children whenever they stray away from the right path and reward them for their good deeds. It is because of the feelings of the mother that the children become good or bad.

When you serve others, your power will also increase...

When you serve others, your power will also increase. The power of attraction is present in every body. The purer you become, the greater will be your power of attraction and so, you will absorb more power. All the powers that are present in the earth are latent in man. Man, in fact, is the reservoir of all powers - electrical, magnetic and laser. Thus, man is very powerful.

Associate yourselfl only with those who are truthful...

Do not shape your conduct with an eye on the opinion of others.
Instead, follow bravely, gladly and steadily the sweet and pleasant
promptings of your own pure mind, your own awakened
consciousness, your own inner self. Associate yourself only with
those who are truthful.

God is the anchor that saves...

Men are born with a helpless lamenting cry;
they should depart from the world with a smile of joy.
That is the purpose of the years of life in between.
But those years are wasted now.

God, who is the anchor that saves
man from the tempests of grief and despair,
is neglected and ignored. Man is tossed about
from one want to another, one grief to another,
until he is blinded by despair and exhausted by foiled pursuits.
Most illnesses are due to this despair and this exhaustion.

So, first and foremost, make your heart pure. It is only purity that attracts Divinity. If the iron filings are rusted, even the most powerful magnet will not attract them. In the same manner, how do you expect God to attract your mind, which is rusted with evil thoughts? See good, hear good, speak good and pleasant words, undertake sacred activities. If you act in this manner, God will certainly bestow his grace on you without your asking for it.

The love of God will solves all problems

The six inner enemies: desire, anger, greed, attachment, pride and
envy can be uprooted only by the teachings of good men, the love of
God, knowledge of the Lord and the company of the holy ones. The
heart of the person who does not strive to cultivate his mind with
holy thoughts is certain to be paradise of evil and wickedness. This
has to be borne in mind by all those aspire for salvation and who
hope to rise to greatness.

YOU are as distant from the Lord, as you think you are, BUT as near Him as you feel you are...

When fruit juice is poured into a cup, the cup does not know its taste. If you hold in the palm, you don't get the taste. You have to drink it with the straw, the senses; then, intellect, the tongue experiences the sweetness. The fruit juice is the nature around us. Taste is sweetness namely, the divinity that is immanent in it; that is the purpose and rationale.

Move forward towards the light and the shadow falls behind; you move away from it and you have to follow your own shadow. Go every moment one step nearer to the Lord and then, the shadow will fall back and will not delude you at all. You are as distant from the Lord, as you think you are, as near Him as you feel you are.

It is no use indulging in arguments and disputations; he who clamors aloud has not grasped the Truth, believe Me. Silence is the only language of the realized.

Those who know will not speak; those who speak do not know, can not know. It is the ignorant man who argues loudly and angrily and talks cynically. The wise man will pause before judging; he will see all sides of the problem, relate it to his own experience and hesitate to accept it or condemn it. He will hear less and taste more.

Wealth, education, social status... are of no avail without character..

Wealth, education, social status, etc. are of no
avail without character. Character is like the
fragrance of the flower; it gives value and
worth.

Poets, painters, artists and scientists
may each be great in their own field, but without
character they can have no true standing.

One may
wonder whether all those who are now treated with
respect by society have a character that entitles
them to being considered great, but society is
subject to fashions that vary from day to day.

The basic nature of a flawless character is
eternal, and remains the same whatever the
vicissitudes of society. Among the qualities that
make up a flawless character are love, patience,
forbearance, steadfastness, charity – these are
the highest, these have to be revered.

Man is a part of the human community...

Man is a part of the human community. Mankind is a part of nature.
Nature is a limb of God. Man has not recognised these
inter-relationships . Today men are forgetting their obligations.

The Cosmos is an integral organism of interrelated parts. When each one
performs his duty, the benefits are available to all. Man is entitled
only to perform his duties and not to the fruits thereof.

Man is a kind of stage-director of what goes on in Nature. But forgetting his
responsibilities, man fights for rights.

It is foolish to fight for rights without discharging one's duties.
All the chaos and conflicts in the world are due to men forgetting their duties.

If everyone discharge their duties diligently, the world will be peaceful and prosperous.

Total surrender is required...to the Divine...

The right attitude of the devotee
should be one of total surrender.
As one devotee declared,

“I am offering to you the heart which you gave me. I have nothing I can call my very own. All are yours. I offer to you what is already yours.”

As long as this spirit of total surrender
is not developed, man will have to be born again and again.
One should offer one's heart to the Divine and not be
content with making offerings like flowers and fruits.

The body is the temple of God, in every body God is installed...

The body is the temple of God;
in every body God is installed,
whether the owner of the body recognizes it or not.

It is God that inspires you to good acts,
that warns you against the bad. Listen to that voice. Obey that voice.
You won't come to harm at all.

All the service that you do to others
through love is in fact service done to yourself.
It is not the others that you help, it is yourself that is helped, remember.

God must become not only a 'part' of your daily routines, but He must become the routine itself.

Constant repetition of the Lord's name,
knowing of His omnipresence and
constant visualization of Him
does not come automatically.

It requires a lot of dedication,
sincerity, purity of heart, simplicity, and intense practice.

The earth quakes in your minds
to believe that all that you see today is not really there.
The eyes that you see with, can only see the world that lies ahead of you.

They cannot see what lies behind you,
above you, below you and much beyond you,
all at the same time.

The eye that is unknown to you
and that has remained closed until now,
can see all the visual fields, all at once,
without making the attempt to see.

This is the eye of the Lord,
which, when once opened, will never blink.
These are the eyes that will see the light of truth,
the eyes that will cry only tears of love,
and the eyes that can never be blindfolded
by the illusion of the living world.

For the eyes to open,
each cell of you must saturate
themselves with the love for God.
You are born to create this love
and build this heaven within you, O sweet.

You see today, but you do not look for Me.
Without God in the eyes, the eyes will become blind and be susceptible to all the temptations and corruption.

A blind man does not need sunglasses,
for the light of the sun does not illumine
the darkness in his eyes.

As long as you will remain blinded
with the illusionary world, My light will never reach your dark world.

Let God be your tomorrow....

My children,
for when divinity gets lost in the past,
the man of the future will become
the cause of his own destruction.

God in man will be evident,
when man will live his life as God.
You fear to love, you fear time,
you fear attachments, you fear life,
and you fear God.

Today it is only doubts,
tomorrow the doubts will turn to fears,
and fears play a game with your mind,
the game in which the mind will mimic your fears -
the result being "insanity", "anxiety", and "panic" of your own selves.

Face the truth, that your fears are
not from any outside forces, they are
your own inner forces that fear to
know the identity of the self.
You find comfort in recognizing
yourselves with your name and with the body.

Beyond that, you cannot see,
and you do not want to see.
No! You cannot pretend to be blind,
when your eyes can see.

To find God and walk ahead,
you must leave your fears behind.
Let your fear be the past,
let your change be the present,
and let God be your tomorrow.

If you choose God to be your teacher of life today, then God must remain teacher and us to accept duties...

To fulfill a duty, the duty must have a function. Each one must learn and follow his own function and only then will the task be a success. The mother cannot behave childish, and the child cannot dictate terms to his mother. Each one's role specifies his own functions and that must be followed with utmost sincerity. Roles cannot be switched, for the task will lack effectiveness.

If you choose God to be your teacher of life today, then God must remain teacher, and you must accept the duties of a disciple. God is here to teach, and you are here to learn and that must always remain clear. The teachings cannot be changed to suit your purposes. You must listen to God with utmost faith and act with promptness. God's guidance must be your torch to light your road. God's word must be the image of truth of your worship. God's criticism of you is only to make you alert of your faults and not to make you feel inferior.

God's encouragement of your strengths is only God's approval to strengthen them even more. Do not interpret this encouragement or praise only to reign your superiority over others. God can lead the way for you, but it is you that must follow.

Doubts will arise only in minds that are weak. You seem to think that in faith you must question. Question who, and question what, when you are unaware of them both. What questions can you ask another when your knowledge of God is so ignorant? Who else but God can answer these questions with truth, patience, and love, with no feeling of frustration, superiority or being humiliated?

You have grown so accustomed to life without God, that the possibility of the change of life with God, fills you with fear. Yes, it is only your fear that takes form of doubts. If you must fear, then fear your present moment that passes you by God, fear your futures,

It is foolishness to brood over mishaps and mistakes once committed and punish yourself for them...

Never brood over the past; when grief overpowers, you do not recollect similar incidents in your past experience and add to the sum of your grief; recollect rather incidents when grief did not knock at your door, but you were happy instead. Draw consolation and strength from such memories and raise yourself above the surging waters of sorrow.

Realize my child, that any place can become the holy ground, for whatever one finds the freedom to be his self, there is where his temple belongs!

Know, My child, that even a stone before you can move, if one completely surrenders to the purity of the inner self...

Do not be confused and change in every worldly role that you play...

Make prayers your top most priority, and reserve thereby your right to everlasting peace...

Harmony comes, not by the expectations of another's change but by one's own efforts...

One earns his livelihood only to fulfill his duty... Then, let not your run for money reach so far that one loses the direction back to his own home

Health is wealth...

Health is wealth. Without a healthy body, man cannot execute any of his thoughts, however noble they may be. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. Have your meals on time and relish what you eat. Also, while eating, be filled with positive thoughts - that will bestow upon you good health. In the first instance, give up all bad habits; you will automatically gain good health, which will confer a strong body. You can then lead an ideal and meritorious life full of happiness and bliss.

A man without egoistic pride is liked by everyone...

"A man without egoistic pride is like by everyone. The man without hatred is free from grief. One who has given up desire is free from worries, Overcoming greed, a man becomes happy.”

Man tends to forget his true nature...

“Man today spends his life fully preoccupied with worldly concerns. Owing to attachment to the body, he forgets his true nature. He is immersed in the affairs of the world and is steeped in misery; He regards the body as permanent and makes bodily comforts his goal in life. These are the things every individual’s engaged in his daily life.”

One may be shrewd in mundane life...but..

Arrogant individuals can not make their way to God.
Greed and avarice are major hurdles in spiritual path.

Life in the world is impermanent...

One spend the whole day in hectic activity... but?

“You spend the whole day in hectic activity. Do you call this living? You eat three times a day, Does this constitute living? Do you think that living consists in sleeping comfortably? Do you regard indulgence in gossip as the aim of life? Did God give you life for these purposes? Knowing what is merit and what is sin, you are indifferent to them. Is this the way to spend your life-time? At least from now on learn to lead a truly human life.”

Bitterness of life...

An experienced wise master grew tired of his Disciple complaining. One morning he sent the Disciple for some salt.

When the Disciple returned, the master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and drink it.

"How does it taste?" the master asked.

"Bitter," spit the Disciple.

The master chuckled and then asked the young man to put a handful of Salt in the lake nearby.

The two walked to the nearby lake. After the apprentice swirled his handful of salt into the water, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake...”

As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the master asked, "Now How does this taste?"

"Fresh Sweet" remarked the Disciple.

"Do you taste the salt?" asked the master.

"No," said the young man.

At this, the master sat beside the young man who so reminded him of himself at one time and held his hands.

He told the young man, "The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in!

Without God, there is no universe...

Without God, there is no universe.
To ask for physical proof of the
existence of bliss or love or the
fragrance of a flower is impracticable.

To deny the reality of love on the ground that it has
no recognizable form is meaningless.
Love may have no form, but the
mother who exhibits love has a form.

All beings are manifestations of
the Cosmic Divine. The forms are different,
but the spirit that animates them all is One,
like the current that illumines bulbs of
different colours and wattage.

Cultivate this feeling of oneness and
do not be critical of any faith or religion.
Dedicate your lives to the service of your fellow beings.
Thereby, you will be redeeming your lives...

So says God...

When I ask you to do a thing,
it must be instantly and willingly obeyed.
The fruit of obedience is more valuable.

Go to a hospital only when
you are resolved to take the drug physician prescribes
and go through the regimen he lays down.
So obey the directions that I give,
whatever others may say or
however difficult they may appear to be.

I require the quality of spiritual effort, not the quantity.
I penetrate into the heart and examine the motive which prompted,
the action, the emotion which urged, and the feeling that shaped the effort.

I require from each of you, no other gift,
no more valuable offering than the heart I have endowed you with.
Give Me that heart back, as pure as when I gave it to you,
full of the nectar of Love, I have filled it with.

The cosmos is filled with love..

When love encounters love, they merge...

“The Supreme Self is the embodiment of Love; When love encounters love, they merge; Hence, if you cultivate love, you become eligible to achieve oneness with the Divine.”

The farmer has no fear of going without food...

“The farmer has no fear of going without food; One who chants the Lord’s name has no fear of worries; The silent man has no fear of discord, The careful man has no fear of danger.”

If you win the grace of the Lord, even the decree of destiny can be overcome...

When a bottle of medicine is purchased,
on the label is a date, printed by the
drug manufacturer that indicates its expiration.

The drug loses its efficacy beyond that date.
Although the drug remains in the bottle,
it will no longer be effective.

Similarly, the grace of God can work
like an expiration date and make the effects of
destiny ineffective.

God's grace cannot be had by one who is wavering
from moment to moment and whose heart is not pure.

Even if you do not practise worship or meditation,
it is enough if you have cleansed
your heart. The Divine will then enter it.

A smile is the rose that grows on the thorns of a sigh...

Calamity, danger, death cannot
be avoided for all the time;
they are inevitable factors of life;
you have to learn to live bravely with them.
This can be accomplished only by un-interrupted prayer.
